The New Mutants (2020)
Spyro Rating: 6,2 /10 as "horror"
Director: Josh Boone

New Mutants (2020) is a horror film where the characters are super-mutants. It is part of the X-Men film series by 20th Century Studios however it does not use characters from other movies. This film makes the 13th and final installment in the franchise as the rights were returned back to Marvel Studios during 2019 Disney's acquisition of Fox.

The entire plot takes place inside an institution where a few mutant children are held. They need to discover their abilities within "walls". Going outside is forbidden for their own safety and the safety of everyone else.

The trailer is deceiving about the soundtrack. Another Brick In The Wall is not included although it would have been a major improvement for this film. New Mutants is something nice to watch during a quarantine evening but there are also other options out there.

Glass (2019)

Glass (2019)
Spyro Rating: 8,2 /10 as "very good"
Director: M. Night Shyamalan
Stars: James McAvoy, Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Paulson
More details on IMDB and Wikipedia

Glass (2019) is the sequel of two films that did not have a connection between them. Except one Easter Egg on "Split (2016)" post-finale where we saw Bruce Willis from "Unbreakable (2000)".  That short scene connected two completely different movies across a 16 years release gap.

First movie was missing a conventional bad guy, the second movie was missing a conventional good guy. It was only natural to mix plots and cast from both into a third movie. This is the time when the hero should fight the villain while the mastermind is conspiring.

It is strongly suggested to watch both previous movies in order to understand Glass (2019) and this is totally fine as all three movies are highly recommended. Also, if matters, Glass (2019) is more a "hero film" like Unbreakable (2000) and less a "thriller film" as Split (2016).
